Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 29, 2024)—USA Ultimate announced today the 200 athletes who were invited to participate in tryouts for the U.S. National Team that will represent the United States at the 2025 WFDF World Beach Ultimate Championships next fall in Portugal.
Following an initial application process that saw more than 1,000 players express interest, Team USA coaching staff pared the pool down to a final list of invitees that will attend one of two tryouts later this month.
Tryouts are held for the three elite-level divisions: open, mixed and women’s.
Following tryouts, coaches will select a final roster of 54 players – three teams of 18 that will compete in the mixed, open and women’s divisions.
In addition to the elite divisions, WFDF will host several yet-to-be-determined masters divisions with those teams being selected via an online application.
